What Is the Beer Chili Cookoff?
The Beer Chili Cookoff is an annual event hosted by Firetrucker Brewery to find the very best chili in Ankeny.
When and Where Will It Be?
The cookoff will be held on Sunday, February 9th, 2020, from 1 PM until 4 PM at Firetrucker Brewery, located at 716 SW 3rd St, Ankeny, Iowa 50023.
What Can I Expect from the Event?
As an attendee of this event, you will pay $10 for a ticket, which includes a pint of beer, chili samples, and a bowl of your favorite chili. You will be able to vote on your favorite chili, ranking them 1-5 on the basis of appearance, aroma, texture, and taste.
If you’d like to enter as a contestant, the fee is $25 and you must make your chili (which must include a Firetrucker beer) ahead of time, and bring it hot and ready to serve to Firetrucker Brewery by 1 PM. You will serve your chili yourself, allowing you to converse with the attendees, and you will be judged not only by popular vote, but by guest chef Logan Lumley as well! Prizes include trophies, money, a gift card, and growlers full of your choice of beer, so you don’t want to miss your chance.
